Chablis – population 2,600

This wine growing region and village is 20 km east of Auxerre and a 45 minute drive from Mailly-le-Chateau.

The Chardonay grapes that are grown here in this cool climate produce classic dry white wines that are world renowned for their unique characteristics - higher acidity and less fruity flavours.

Irancy - population 312
One of the most northerly red wine grape growing areas, primarily growing Pinot Noir vines for producing red wines.

Irancy's vineyards are protected from the worst of the winter weather by its unusual topography.

Coulanges-la-Vineuse- population 948

Red and Rosé wines produced mainly from Pinot Noir vines. While these wines are similar in style to those of Irancy, they are reputed to lack some of the depth and structure.
